Currently watching | The Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call - New Orleans
I’m astounded this film actually was released in Durham. From what i’ve read this film is only going to be released for a short time in 100 theaters before being dumped onto DVD. While the film it’s self doesn’t look like anything special, it does look like it will feature the type of performance I’ve been wanting to see Nic Cage deliver for years.
I heard good things about this - that it is over-the-top performances and worth seeing for that. I only got a hold of the original Abel Ferrara BAD LIEUTENANT starring Harvey Keitel; as obscene as it is (made just before THE PIANO period) I feel without Keitel taking such risks there might not have been RESERVOIR DOGS’ or FROM DUSK TIL’ DAWN’s memorable turns - I was getting worried about how he appeared in BUGSY.
